Saratoga County Sheriff's Department
The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department provides police protection and law enforcement services to the Town of Day. The department is led by Sheriff Jeffery R. Brown, and Undersheriff George R. Maxfield. The County Sheriff is the primary law enforcement executive in each county of the State of New York. As an elected official, he is accountable to every citizen in the county he represents. The Sheriff is the only elected law enforcement officer in the State of New York. The Sheriff’s Department provides services such as road patrol and criminal investigations, operation of the county correctional facility (jail), civil division, pistol permits, emergency communications center and other public safety related activities.

Saratoga County launched a new website, this will allow eligible motorists to request traffic ticket reductions online. This initiative is expected to save Saratoga County a significant amount of money while also reducing costs and administrative burdens for Towns and Cities. By moving much of this process online, they can free up valuable court resources and improve efficiency across the County.
