Town Assessor Assessor Forms & Tax Roll
Carrie Schermerhorn, Town Assessor
Office Phone: (518) 696-3789 Ext. 4 [email protected] Office hours: Friday 9am-4pm or by appointment The Assessor is appointed by the Town Board with each term for a six year period. The Town of Day is funded, in part, by taxes on real property – the land and buildings in the Town. The basis for property taxes is the “assessed value of the property”, a value which is consistent with the value the property would sell for if it were on the market. The Assessor is charged with computing that value consistent with the laws of New York State, and in a manner fair to all tax payers to insure each of us pays our fair share and no more. Property assessments are a matter of public record and may be reviewed on the Saratoga County Assessment Database (see link on this page).
